Prominent Iranian Setar player and composer dies
Renowned Iranian Setar player, Persian music composer and teacher Jalal Zolfonoun has died of heart disease at the age of 74 in Tehran.
Iran is planning to mount an international handicrafts exhibition showcasing various works from different countries in the capital city of Tehran.
Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) Rouhollah Ahmadzadeh-Kermani announced that the exhibition will be held in near future in an attempt to support the country's economical growth through promoting handicrafts export.
Kilim, pottery, wooden furniture, hand-made glass and pendants are among Iran's main handicrafts export items.
Ahmadzadeh-Kermani also said that the rate of Iranian handicraft export had significantly risen during recent years.
Iran has some 257 handicraft items on its national heritage list and over 116 of its works have received the UNESCO Award of Excellence, he added.
